In this track, the two old school legends Shockdell and Gen Atem (aka Gen U One) meet in a battle.
On one side, the New York rapper Shockdell: He became known for his appearance in the legendary 1982 film »Wild Style«, where he performed the explosive finale at the Lower East Side Amphitheatre with artist Rammellzee. In 1986 Shockdell, Rammellzee and Delta Two formed the band »Getto Vetts« and released their debut album of the same name. The album was produced by Bill Laswell and Bootsy Collins played bass. Bootsy Collins, in turn, is a legend in funk - he played bass with James Brown in 1970 on the track »…Sex Machine« and was part of George Clinton's »Parliament-Funkadelic« project.
On the album »Bi-Conicals of the Rammellzee« Shockdell performed in the track »Pay The Rent«. On the other side, the Swiss artist and musician Gen Atem: He realized various performances with Rammellzee in New York and Amsterdam from 1986 to 1994. Gen Atem is considered a pioneer of the European urban art scene. His artworks have been exhibited in museums and galleries in New York, Paris, Berlin, Zurich, Istanbul and Tokyo. He has produced and released four solo studio albums.
The track Double Fight - Four More Rounds is a tribute to the old school hip hop culture. Staged as a classic battle, Shockdell with his sharp and swift lyrics counters Gen Atem with his funky rhyming, they verbally create an explosive load of dangerous rap. Musically, the track, composed and produced by Gen Atem, operates with hard and hypnotizing military drum beats and hypnotic bass offsets. This not only catapults you back into the heyday of the underground style wars culture, but shoots you straight into a dystopian sphere.
